Venetian Blinds Guide: Aluminium vs Wood for Dubai Homes

What Are Venetian Blinds?

Venetian blinds consist of horizontal slats suspended on fabric or plastic tapes. The slats tilt to control light and privacy, and the entire blind can be raised to stack neatly at the top of the window. They're one of the oldest and most refined window treatment formats — and they're making a strong comeback in Dubai interiors.

Aluminium Venetian Blinds

The most practical choice for Dubai's kitchen, bathrooms, and commercial spaces. Aluminium is:

• 100% moisture-resistant — ideal for humid environments
• Easy to wipe clean — important in Dubai's dusty climate
• Available in dozens of powder-coated colours including brushed metal finishes
• From AED 55/window installed

Wood Venetian Blinds

Real wood slats bring warmth and natural character to living rooms, bedrooms, and studies. In Dubai's air-conditioned interiors, real wood venetians perform well — the consistent interior humidity from AC systems actually suits wood better than outdoor climates with seasonal humidity swings.

• Available in stained and painted finishes
• 25mm, 35mm, and 50mm slat widths — wider slats for larger windows
• From AED 75/window for real wood

Fauxwood (PVC) — The Best of Both?

Fauxwood venetian blinds look like real wood but are made from moisture-resistant PVC. Ideal if you want the wood look in a bathroom or kitchen. From AED 65/window.

Our Recommendation for Dubai

Aluminium for bathrooms, kitchens, and offices. Real wood for living rooms and bedrooms. Fauxwood if you want wood-look in moisture-exposed spaces. All available with motorized tilt control.
